Job Summary
Be a part of a leading medical company, BD, where you will have the opportunity to lead a team of professionals in the manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico. As a Senior Manufacturing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the plant, ensuring quality, order fulfillment, and budget management. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to Directors and Managers at the Tijuana Site.
  • Coordinate and lead activities with functional peers in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Build and coach high-performing teams, with a balance between operational performance and strong succession planning.
  • Align operational objectives and drive results with key stakeholders in Product Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Finance, Planning, and Logistics.
  • Ensure operational plans are aligned with business objectives and strategy coming from leadership team in Switzerland.
  • Lead the daily execution of the manufacturing sites to meet all stakeholder expectations for quality, order fulfillment, total cost management, and budget management.
  • Develop all elements of the financial plan for the operations department and effectively meeting the plan.
  • Drive improvement in operational effectiveness and efficiency and the implementation of lean manufacturing processes & continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing facility operates in compliance with all local, state, federal and international regulations and ordinances including FDA, ISO, OSHA, EEO, EPA, etc., and applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Apply expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Role model the company's high ethical standards and code of conduct.
  • Implement succession plan for managing talent within and from outside the organization.
  • Set goals for the function/work area that are aligned with function/organization goals from Switzerland.
  • Inspire others to meet/exceed expectations on a daily basis through own enthusiasm and energy.
  • Identify and initiate efforts to achieve objectives, teaching others to accept accountability for meeting and stretching to exceed results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage resources to ensure financial objectives are met, leveraging knowledge of competitive advantage and profit drivers.
  • Resolve complex issues related to responsibilities.
  • Recognize and reward innovative thinking, responsible risk taking, and the achievement of operational excellence.
  • Develop broad influence through a robust set of internal/external relationships across the organization; promote win-win outcomes within, among and across teams, using the diverse perspectives of others to achieve results.
  • Influence customer and/or organizational leadership through effective listening and communication to accomplish operational objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree/Preferred in engineering or technical related field; advanced degree and/or MBA preferred.
  • +8 years of experience in similar activities/role.
  • Professional English proficiency.
  • Valid US Visa and passport.
  • The successful candidate will likely be high energy, high touch; will have impeccable leadership credentials and will likely be hands-on and results-oriented. Driven, motivated, responsive, proactive, data-oriented, intelligent, and articulate, he/she will also possess credible, demonstrable team building and change management skills.
