Key Responsibilities
- Oversee news coverage coordination from various bureaus serving stations nationwide.
- Assign reporters to cover urgent news stories as they unfold.
- Facilitate video requests from stations for various news events.
- Manage live broadcasts between reporters and stations across the country.
- Gather, report, shoot, edit, write, prepare, and present news content in a fair and unbiased manner.
- Develop story ideas, conduct research, and arrange interviews and content.
- Collaborate with news producers, managers, and photographers to create special news segments and packages based on breaking or planned stories.
- Maintain communication with news producers, assignment editors, and managers regarding local story developments and breaking news.
- Perform temporary assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with a keen attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, high-pressure news environment.
- Familiarity with non-linear editing and shooting processes.
- Engage viewers through social media and other interactive platforms.
- Strong news judgment and ethical decision-making skills.
- Fluent in Spanish, with excellent reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
- Proficient in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Capable of performing under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Eligibility Requirements
- Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and respond to emergencies as news coverage demands.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Willingness to travel for special assignments as necessary.
- Valid driver's license required.
