About the Role: We seek an experienced Quality Assurance and Process Improvement Director to drive the implementation of quality tools and techniques for solving problems and continuously improving manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will lead the development, planning, implementation, and maintenance of our integrated management system (IMS) including Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the implementation of quality tools and techniques such as Six-Sigma, P-FMEA, DMAIC, SPC, Pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, 8D, CAPA, SCAR for solving problems and continuously improving manufacturing processes.
- Conduct ISO or VDA-based audits, safety audits, report findings, and assist in tracking actions related to implementing corrective measures.
- Support the delivery of all internal PQP, Quality Plans, PPAP requirements of NPI projects.
- Lead the Manufacturing Quality Team to create and sign off on all internal PPAPs, authorizing the release of parts and processes to required quality and quantity.
- Work closely with external and internal stakeholders to influence product and process robustness.
- Utilize the Corrective/Preventative Action system in conjunction with the Supplier Corrective Action System to ensure quality issues are managed and communicated at the appropriate management levels.
- Continuous improvement project identification and implementation; for product and manufacturing process improvements.
- Work seamlessly with Supplier Quality to develop suppliers accordingly to improve incoming quality, if needed trigger escalation process.
- Hire, manage, and educate staff in Quality Principles and practices.
- Serve as a functional leader for Regional and Corporate Quality initiatives pertaining to product and process quality within the manufacturing environment and to end customers.
- Train and support PPAP and statistical process control for Manufacturing and Test activities.
- Lead formal efforts to communicate performance results at required intervals.
Requirements:
- 7+ to 10 years of experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing company.
- VDA 6.3 or ISO 9001 Auditor with proven process auditing skills.
- Advanced skills in applying Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, CAPA, SCAR.
- Fully conversant with Management Systems, preferably ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 17025.
- Good understanding of process mapping, evaluation, and control.
- Certified ISO and/or VDA auditor.
- Six-Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt Preferred).
Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
