About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Hardware Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware board design or equivalent working experience in a design/manufacturing environment. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Utilizing the NXP Component Library (NCL) to leverage existing designs and components for future projects
  • Defining architecture to implement design per Technical Requirements Document (TRD)
  • Driving standards for schematics, logic symbols, design for test, design for manufacturing, and certifications
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Applications, CAD, Product Engineer, Test Engineer, and Manufacturing Program Manager to create a quality manufacturable product
  • Completing Design Verification Test (DVT) in conjunction with BU, software teams, and test engineering
  • Driving innovations in design process and design IP reuse, and providing training and promotion for new technologies and methodologies to BU design teams
What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you'll require:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics, product & industrial design, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware board design or equivalent working experience in a design/manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of system level design, including mechanical, thermal, PCBA, cabling, PSU, firmware, etc.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and quality requirements, including DFx process
  • Solid high-speed digital signal design and test experience
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and experience with compliance tests like FCC / CE
  • Master Cadence tools, including Allegro and OrCAD
  • Ability to perform SI/PI (Mixed Signal / Analog / Digital / RF / Wireless) simulation and analysis (plus)
  • Prior experience with CPLD/FPGAs in implementing advanced HW control / monitoring / logging (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of RF design (NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, WiMAX) (advantage)
