About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team at Unisys. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Migration and Deployment
    • Migrate applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition.
    • Design and implement cloud architecture and solutions on AWS that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance
    • Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed for all AWS resources and services.
    • Monitor performance and usage of AWS resources and services and optimize as needed to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cloud Automation and Orchestration
    • Develop and implement automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other similar tools.
  • Cloud Monitoring and Performance
    • Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and recommend improvements to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
    • Utilizing Cloud Watch to monitor resources such as EC2, Amazon RDS services, EBS volumes, to set alarms for notification or automated actions and to monitor logs for a better understanding and operation of the system.
  • Cloud Architecture and Design
    • Design and implement cloud architecture and solutions on AWS that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
    • Understand best practices for architecture design, security, and cost optimization.
  • Cloud Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data protection policies.
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Master's degree in Computer Science or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Technical Skills
    • Experience in cloud computing, specifically in cloud migration, architecture, and implementation.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
    • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Understanding of networking concepts, including load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, and Terraform.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Natural problem-solving ability, sharp reasoning and a logical bent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and Skills
    • Experience of Linux/Windows Administration.
    • Knowledge of web servers and load balancers such as Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, HAProxy.
    • Automation of infrastructure setup, monitoring and debugging of the application, setting up and configuring code repositories and continuous integration tools, working with security teams to ensure secure operations, and improving system performance.
