Job Summary:
Position: Cost Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and timely calculate product and component standard costs, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and external reporting requirements.
Essential Duties:
1. Quarterly review and update material, labor, subcontract, and overhead costs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
2. Prepare impairment analysis and capitalization of freight and tariff spending to optimize financial performance.
3. Perform month-end close, including journal entries and inventory reconciliation, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
4. Collaborate with accounting and other departments to maintain compliance with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
5. Respond to cost data requests and analyze labor and overhead spending to inform business decisions.
6. Assist in annual multi-site physical inventory and support external audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Competencies:

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant, with a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
Experience with GAAP and non-GAAP standard cost systems, as well as proficiency in ERP software (QAD Enterprise Edition preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Knowledge of Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, with bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
Requirements:
Full-time employment, with a salary range of $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per month.
8-hour workday, with a requirement for a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant.
