Job Summary

The Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for executing regular month-end close activities, balance sheet accounts reconciliations, and distribution of reports related to our US and Canada plants, specifically in the Inventory/Cost of Sales areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare manual journal entries with the appropriate support based on US GAAP, demonstrating strong attention to detail when performing calculations and preparing journal entries.
  • Financial Analysis: Interact with the finance team on the review of month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Account Reconciliation: Prepare balance sheet reconciliations timely and accurately, demonstrating ability to identify root cause of discrepancies.
  • Financial Data Management: Prepare and distribute recurring financial reports (daily, weekly, or monthly as required), ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Accounting Procedures: Demonstrate consistency in following accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing financial data and support as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist with continuous improvements initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: BS/BA in accounting required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Skills: Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • Language: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) required.
  • Personal Qualities: Confidence in challenging the status quo, always on the lookout for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Team Player: The ability to go fast, the desire to help others go faster.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
