Junior Tax Compliance Specialist

Position Overview
As a Junior Tax Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for executing calculations related to federal tax obligations in accordance with Mexican tax regulations, particularly focusing on VAT and Income Tax. Your role will involve the timely submission of monthly and annual tax filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Maquila Operations tax regulations
- Preparation and presentation of Monthly and Annual Tax Obligations (General Regime and Maquila)
- Understanding of Social Security contributions
- Monthly reconciliation of tax accounts for both US and MX GAAP standards
- Review and analysis of annual Federal tax opinions (dictamen fiscal)
- Management of tax refunds and compensations (Income Tax, VAT)
- Thorough analysis of working papers to ensure accuracy in accounting and tax reporting
- Maintenance and reconciliation of all tax-related general ledger accounts
- Calculation of Deferred Taxes
- Preparation of Tax Projections
- Development of workpapers for internal and external audits
- Addressing and resolving inquiries from tax authorities (SAT, IMSS, ECONOMY)
- Knowledge of Transfer Pricing regulations
Candidate Profile:
- Strong focus on prioritization and goal-setting
- Data-driven approach with emphasis on key performance metrics
- Ability to build relationships across various teams and departments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in a tax-focused position.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and its relevance to tax accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
