Overview

Under the guidance of the Tactical Purchasing Manager, this role engages in the procurement process adhering to best practices related to supplier selection, product integrity, availability of parts, cost management, and compliance with international regulations. The position is critical in ensuring that suppliers fulfill the requirements set forth by Manufacturing and Distribution Centers. A primary focus is on expediting orders and addressing shortages while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. The role involves monitoring supplier performance in terms of lead times and delivery schedules, initiating improvements as necessary, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Assists in fulfilling product needs by obtaining supplier quotations, placing purchase orders, and managing stock transfers, including expediting and delaying orders as required.
  • Ensures adherence to delivery timelines and manages compliance with lead times in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Engages in discussions regarding contract terms with necessary internal stakeholders and suppliers, including conditions and routing guidelines.
  • Guarantees timely distribution of weekly forecasts to suppliers, including open order reports and planned orders.
  • Works to minimize exception messages and overdue supply items within the assigned material groupings.
  • Optimizes raw materials and finished goods in SAP to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensures a steady supply of materials to production while striving to reduce inventory levels where feasible.
  • Analyzes and enhances SAP material master settings for efficiency.
  • Monitors and seeks to lower procurement costs for existing products through participation in cost-reduction initiatives and timely resolution of invoice discrepancies.
  • Contributes to the development of best practices within the procurement department, focusing on improved operational efficiency.
  • Cultivates and strengthens interdepartmental relationships between Shure and key suppliers.
  • Collaborates with Supplier Quality Engineers to address quality concerns and supplier development projects.
  • May require travel to meet with suppliers or visit other company locations as necessary.
  • Capable of generating KPIs and metrics using SAP, Excel, or PowerPoint to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field within Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of procurement practices, negotiation principles, and business law.
  • Preferred professional certifications from recognized purchasing organizations.
  • Essentials Certification as an SAP supply chain user is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, proficient in tools such as Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities with urgency.
