About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Cost Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering successful projects by providing cost management services, including quantity take-off and pricing, invoice validation, cost forecasting and reporting, change management, close out final account, and assistance with procurement management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Management: Conduct feasibility studies, write procurement reports, review construction plans, and prepare quantity take-offs, along with contract preparation and management.
  2. Estimating and Cost Planning: Prepare and review detailed estimates and cost plans, manage estimating and cost planning activities, and present the final cost plan.
  3. Procurement Management: Manage the procurement process, implement procurement and contracting strategies, and participate in negotiations to ensure effective selection and contract preparation.
  4. Change Management: Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively, documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and issue monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client, drive value engineering and offer cost insights to support business decisions.
  6. Final Account Negotiation: Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders, taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  8. Team Leadership: Where appropriate, lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all their assigned tasks and accountabilities.
  9. Financial Management: Utilize financial management systems to keep track of ongoing margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission.
  10. Process Improvement: Identify and act upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
Requirements
  1. Professional Experience: Minimum 12 years of professional experience related to cost management.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, architecture, or any degree relevant to the position.
  3. Certifications: RICS, AACE certifications/memberships.
  4. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish.
  5. Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure to deliver deadlines, good communication skills, and experience explaining concepts, methodologies, and their deliverables to clients.
  6. Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, CostX, and knowledge of AutoCAD.
