Air-Cooled Chiller Technical Specialist

This role is a vital part of the global air-cooled chiller engineering team at Johnson Controls.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain in-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical aspects of air-cooled chiller products.
- Design and develop layouts, generate detail drawings, and create BOMs for manufacturing support.
- Support production by resolving issues, troubleshooting units, initiating design changes, and driving on-time implementation of released designs.
- Create engineering/design documentation such as assembly instructions, test procedures, process control records, component specifications, and more.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency, production quality, and cost.
- Provide technical assistance to various departments including Materials, Quality Control, and Safety.
- Develop and execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of chiller components and systems.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts such as UL, CE, PED, and ASME.
- Lead small engineering projects and communicate project status internally and externally.
- Frequent travel may be required (less than 20%).
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related science or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a related field.
- Experience in product manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of fundamental business knowledge.
- Prior knowledge/experience in refrigeration systems and components (compressors, heat exchangers) is desirable.
- Prior knowledge/experience in electrical engineering (electric motors, motor control, electrical wiring) is a plus.
The estimated salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
