Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Operations Specialist to join our team at General Motors. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site's IT infrastructure, including WAN/LAN networks, wireless systems, and IT end devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform asset management inventory updates and label printing as needed.
- Support End User Devices (PCs, Printers, Scanners, Mobile Phones and Tablets) and use remote PC Management tools to assist users.
- Complete assigned IT project tasks and use corporate IT tools to perform remote device management and user support.
- Build clients (PCs, Laptops, printers, wireless devices) per common procedure(s) and participate with cross-functional teams as required.
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair of computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals.
- Support GM managed LAN and WAN network infrastructure Hardware, Wireless network and end device configuration / replacement, GM managed Supplier network, GM DAS network and plant radio system, VoIP and analog phone devices, and Teleconference devices.
- Document, craft, stage/test, configure, plan, implement, solve, and support Telecom installations.
- Provide technical support for operational issues and/or problems, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network problems.
- Test and validate new hardware, software, and procedures for existing technologies, as well as any newly developed technologies.
- Demonstrate working knowledge in areas of specialization that include LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Voice, UC, Contact Center, Digital Video, Application Development, Network Security, Applied Networking and Operations, and make recommendations for improvements.
