We are a global cruise company that offers an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Director Associate Counsel Development - Mexico based in Mexico City.

Job Summary

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 to $180,000 depending on experience. The position serves as Mexican legal counsel for Royal Caribbean's development projects and other business activities in Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Support Royal Caribbean with respect to cruise port development and management in Mexico, including obtaining necessary concessions and other authorizations.
  • Support Royal Caribbean in connection with its current and future strategic partnerships in Mexico.
  • Support the Company's Perfect Day and Royal Beach Club portfolio in Mexico with due diligence and acquisition/leasing of new project sites.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review transactional real estate documents, loan and financing documents, and general corporate documents.
  • Research, review, and interpret Mexican legal and political developments affecting the Company's business and stay current on new and proposed changes.
  • Track and provide guidance on existing and new Mexican laws and regulations applicable to Royal Caribbean's developments and operations in Mexico.
Requirements
  • Duly licensed attorney in good standing in Mexico with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of transactional legal experience as a practicing lawyer with real estate, infrastructure development, and/or corporate law experience.
  • Medium/large law firm and/or in-house experience preferred, especially experience serving large multinational corporations or working in their in-house legal departments.
  • Candidate must be bilingual with full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
