Cybersecurity Tutor Role

We're looking for an experienced cybersecurity professional to join our team as a tutor for our cybersecurity program. As a tutor, you will be responsible for mentoring students, helping them with difficult concepts and assignments, and teaching them the skills necessary to be great cybersecurity professionals.

Responsibilities

  1. Mentor students during 1-1 video calls and communicate with students via video during group Q&A sessions.
  2. Host webinars and other educational events for groups of students on topics such as cybersecurity best practices, industry trends, and career development.
  3. Share your professional expertise and best industry practices with students.
  4. Develop a community among students, encouraging and teaching community norms in social spaces like Discord and Reddit.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the cybersecurity field.
  • Experience with tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Splunk, ELK, and more.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Oracle VirtualBox) and cloud technologies.
  • Cloud security experience with tools like CrowdStrike, Cisco SecureX, Prisma Cloud, and more.
  • Incident response and crisis management experience within a business environment.
  • US tech industry experience and knowledge of cybersecurity standards, such as NIST, ISO, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Availability to dedicate 10-15 hours a week (or slightly more if desired) to this project.
