Technical Leadership Role at Lyft

We're seeking an experienced software engineer to lead our team and drive technical innovation at Lyft. As a Tech Lead, you'll be responsible for defining the team's roadmap, architecture, and best practices, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the team, ensuring the delivery of scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to unblock and support the team's progress.
  • Evangelize technical best practices and participate in hiring activities, including technical interviews and live coding.
  • Act as a mentor to other developers on the team and across the company.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of software engineering industry experience.
  • Experience with backend programming languages, such as Python, Golang, Java, or C#.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
  • Strong experience with relational and/or non-relational databases.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Passion for new technologies and performing research and development tasks.
  • Ability to learn fast, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Flask.
  • AWS experience (EC2, Redshift for data warehouse, Elastic MapReduce for data processing).
  • Experience in microservices architecture.
  • Experience managing small engineering teams.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule if an established Lyft Location is available to the region. Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays, and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
