Position Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for collecting, consolidating, and analyzing cost-related information to support management in planning and budgetary control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly inventory assessments and trend analyses.
- Evaluate current manufacturing costs and generate regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Examine product design changes, raw material costs, and service methods to assess their impact on overall costs.
- Facilitate cost analysis processes by establishing and reinforcing policies, providing trend projections, and recommending actionable strategies.
- Determine operational costs by establishing standard costs and ensuring accuracy in raw material, labor, and personnel cost calculations.
- Ensure compliance with policy cycle counts through diligent monitoring and reporting.
- Plan and assess annual physical inventory outcomes.
- Prepare monthly efficiency reports.
- Input product costs into the financial system accurately.
- Publish monthly sales performance reports.
- Upload annual standard costs into the system.
- Conduct monthly GIT report runs and maintain records.
- Analyze and report on obsolete inventory items quarterly.
- Review journal entries, variance analyses, closing calendars, and prepare additional data reports for month-end closures.
- Oversee project reviews and supervise monthly labor cost estimates.
- Report on inventory activities, including monthly inventory reporting and progress updates related to stock and WIP cycles.
- Calculate labor and machinery absorption indices on an annual and quarterly basis, along with variances in fully loaded labor and material rates.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciliations are accurately maintained.
- Participate in SOX controls and audits.
- Review accounts to ensure proper mapping into appropriate cost pools within the system.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Experience with cost systems and processes, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
