Senior Application Systems Engineer

Aptiv Plc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Systems Engineer to join our team in Saltillo or Juarez, Mexico. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting customer and internal functions in exceeding customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wiring design and manufacturing, with experience in automotive connection systems, including housings, terminals, and high-speed cable assemblies. Additionally, they will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively with multiple customers and organizations simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow customer relationships within multiple customer engineering teams
  • Identify and evaluate new component business opportunities through customer interaction and communication
  • Capture and summarize "Voice of the Customer"
  • Provide Connection Systems Engineering Customer support (prints, specification, validation testing, samples, etc.)
  • Support internal quote process (F3X, Pre-PXRB, PXRB)
  • Support and/or create internal and customer reviews (design reviews, customer technical reviews, customer component evaluation, vehicle packaging review, etc.)
  • Provide customer pre-launch/launch support
  • Provide customer formal and open issue tracking
  • Support customer and internally initiated change management (technical details, coordination, timing, etc.)
  • Be the point of contact with OEM, vehicle platform teams, and Harness Makers (Tiers)
  • Ensure timing Aptiv and customer plans are correct and that risks are identified
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed (less than 25%)
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Required Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in wiring design or manufacturing with automotive connection systems, including housings, terminals, and high-speed cable assemblies
  • 3+ years of experience with a role involving customer interfacing
  • 3+ years of experience within the automotive industry
  • Excellent time management and work prioritization skills
  • Assertive attitude
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills
  • Basic PC skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Chrome, Skype, Teams, Webex

Preferred Background:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or MBA
  • Ability to interface with multiple customers and organizations simultaneously
  • Ability to forge relationships with customer engineering and business teams
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
