Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science and Analytics Lead to join our team at British American Tobacco. As a key member of our Digital Business Solutions - IDT team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop data analytics extract routines to support departmental activities
- Use tools to automate routines and develop techniques for continuous monitoring and analyzing large volumes of data
- Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements to support data science initiatives
- Assess data sources and validate the completeness and accuracy of data received (where applicable)
- Collaborate with other team members to work towards departmental objectives relating to data science and analytics
- Execute on special data science/analysis focused projects as requested by management
- Support internal investigations through data science/analytics
- Develop and maintain expertise in data insights and development across departmental capabilities in retail and consumer insights, process mining, and robotic process automation technologies
- Promote an awareness of risk management and control practices with BAT management
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering/analytics
- Proficiency in Power BI and SQL
- Advanced English language skills
- Degree educated with relevant professional qualification
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate well with others
- Experience in the development and use of data science and analysis tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI) or other similar tools
- Experience with SAP (ERP and BW) data analysis at a database level
- Experience with tools like SQL Server, Snowflake, and Dataiku
Desirable Skills
- Experience in automation tools (UiPATH and Power Automate)
- Experience with accounting firm and/or corporate industry experience
- Knowledge in e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento)
