Senior/Lead Analytics Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead Analytics Data Engineer to join our team at AgileEngine, LLC. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modeling and Design
Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
Data Governance and Quality
Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to define data modeling standards and best practices, ensuring data governance and quality.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
Develop and lead a team of junior data analysts, providing mentorship, training, and coaching to increase technical acumen across the team.
System Development and Deployment
Develop scalable systems to expand reporting capabilities, facilitate ad hoc analysis, and improve data-driven decision-making at all levels of the business.
Analytics and Data Science
Work with large, complex data sets, solving difficult data transformation problems with efficiency, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
Communication and Collaboration
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and data-driven decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the establishment of standards for writing clean, organized code and documentation to streamline data and analytics workflow.
Culture and Diversity
Drive and promote a culture of testing, observability, and scalability with a data-driven mindset, actively participating in AgileEngine, LLC's diversity and inclusion agenda.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
BS/BA in a quantitative field; a plus if MS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Skills
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on analytics and data modeling; 4+ years of experience in Data Warehouse Data Modeling techniques; strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling tools.
Programming Languages and Tools
Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java; experience with analytics software such as Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar open-source tools.
Cloud Platform and ETL/ELT
Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage; experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
Soft Skills
Track record of delivering data-driven products and insights as well as influencing product and engineering decisions; upper-intermediate English level.
