About the Role

At UST España & Latam, we're seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team. As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data models, schema, and data quality standards for our hybrid cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Ingestion and Processing: Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources and formats using Big Data Technologies.
  2. Cloud Solutions Development: Develop, enhance, and support data ingestion jobs from various source systems using GCP Services such as Apache Spark, Dataproc, Dataflow, BigQuery, Airflow, etc.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work across teams and senior engineers to make data more accessible to others within the organization.
  4. Pipeline Optimization: Modify data extraction pipelines into standardized approaches that can be repeatable and reusable with minimal supervision from senior engineers.
  5. Query and Data Access Optimization: Work closely with senior engineers to optimize query and data access techniques.
  6. Modern Software Development Practices: Apply modern software development practices (serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, etc.).
  7. Agile Software Development: Participate in a tight-knit engineering team employing agile software development practices.
  8. Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and Portuguese to collaborate with BVS technical and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data migration to the EDH platform.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of technical experience.
  2. Proficient in the Portuguese language.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  4. 5+ years of work experience as a Data Engineer.
  5. 3+ years of experience using technologies such as Apache Spark, Hive, HDFS, Beam (Optional).
  6. 3+ years of experience in SQL and Scala or Python.
  7. 2+ years of experience with software build management tools like Maven or Gradle.
  8. 2+ years of experience working with Cloud Technologies such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
