Job Summary
As an Industrialization Engineer at Safran Electronics & Defense, you will be responsible for providing engineering support during the assembly, test, and acceptance processes. This includes managing industrialization deliverables on new programs, developing and executing industrialization plans, and representing the industrialization team in customer and program meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage industrialization deliverables on new programs as part of the integrated program team.
- Develop and execute industrialization plans in accordance with Safran Corporate standards and program goals.
- Represent the industrialization team in customer and program meetings as required.
- Create the production element of the industrial dossier, mainly manufacturing bill of material (BOM), routers, and standardized work instructions.
- Develop Cycle Time and Takt Time standards and plan to achieve them.
- Integrate plan for the design, manufacture, and implementation of new tools and prototypes from the tooling engineering teams on the new program.
- Analyze and manage industrial process and product risk during development.
- Work with the Design and Manufacturing teams to develop optimal production processes for each product type.
- Coordinate with Facilities to ensure that the necessary production floor space and support is allocated in conjunction with the required schedule.
- Provide feedback to Design group for DFMA (design for manufacture and assembly).
- Develop a detailed phasing schedule for implementation of new lines.
- Maintain industrialization metrics in line with pilot control standard KPI's and communicate performance on a regular basis.
- Champion and implement Lean principles.
- Lead and participate in Kaizen and 3P events to develop improvements and plans.
- Support Departmental and Personal Objectives/Measurement.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: 3 years' experience in a similar position.
- Certifications: Green belt, DMAIC (desirable).
- Languages: English (mandatory).
Skills and Abilities
- Experience in industrialization for new products or insourcing, especially in metal parts machining and CNC 5 axis machine.
- Knowledge and experience on special processes for machining.
- Proficiency in drawing interpretations, EBOM, DFMEA, and Geometric Tolerance (GD&T).
- Understanding of part application, functional requirements, and Key Characteristics identification.
- Experience in defining production routing, MBOM. Standardized work instructions and rework routines.
- Risk management and KPI monitoring experience.
- Continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma.
- Microsoft Office tools knowledge.
- Understanding in machining process (CNC process strong preferred).
- Knowledge in manufacturing costing process (desirable).
- Knowledge in teat treat and grinding process (desirable).
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD and CAD / CAM Program (MasterCAM, Solidworks).
- SAP knowledge.
