Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Video Colorist to join our post-production team. As a Video Colorist, you will be responsible for enhancing the visual quality of our video content, ensuring consistency and alignment with the creative vision of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply color correction and color grading techniques to film, video, and digital media to enhance visual storytelling and achieve the desired final product.
- Troubleshoot and solve color issues such as poor lighting, poor white balance, mismatched shots with multiple cameras, constantly changing camera exposure and color balance while shooting.
- Find creative solutions to enhance poorly shot footage.
- Work closely with producers and editors to ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision.
- Ensure all final deliverables meet technical specifications and quality standards, including color consistency and visual coherence across different formats and platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in color grading and visual effects to continuously improve skills and workflows.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Color Grading Software, including Adobe Premiere Pro Lumetri Tools and DaVinci Resolve.
- Understanding of video scopes (Waveform, Vectorscope, RGB parade) to accurately analyze and adjust color balance and exposure.
- Knowledge of LUTs (Look-Up Tables) and how to create and apply them effectively.
- Knowledge of various video formats, resolutions, and codecs to ensure compatibility and optimal quality across different platforms.
- Understanding of how cinematography, lighting, and camera settings affect the color and exposure of video footage.
- Attention to detail with the ability to spot subtle differences in color and brightness, and maintain consistency in color grading across different shots and scenes.
- Understanding of Color Theory and knowledge of color harmony, contrast, and the psychological impact of colors to enhance storytelling.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively to allow for the downloading, exporting, and uploading of large media files.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Colorist in film, television, or digital media production, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- A degree in Film, Media Production, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with reality TV style production and amateur video footage.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
- Experience working in the adult entertainment industry.
- Experience with Google Workspaces such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Sheets.
