About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team at Caterpillar Inc. As a Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our inventory and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Operations Supervisors to oversee the scheduling, planning, and oversight of material procurement, production, and delivery.
  • Work in liaison with Operations Supervisors, Transportation, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues and ensure efficiency and quality within the material handling and warehousing functions.
  • Allocate resources based on work schedule, sequence, and priorities of jobs to be performed by the team to meet pre-established timeline limits.
  • Support start-up meetings, troubleshoot issues, escalate system problems for resolution, and coordinate with traffic and customer service teams.
  • Carry out all duties and tasks assigned by the Operations Supervisor and cover for the Operations Supervisors in their absence.
  • Support 5S, Lean, and CPS-related initiatives and activities.
  • Coordinate the flow of grief materials within the manufacturing facility and transfer materials to and from inventory or warehouse.
  • Build and follow up on procurement plans to ensure they align with business objectives.
  • Track and analyze supplier performance metrics and collaborate with suppliers to deliver materials per requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree complete or in progress.
  • 1-2 years minimum experience in warehousing/distribution operations/transportation.
  • 50% English written.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, leadership potential, and advanced planning techniques.
