The Tax Senior, based in Mexico City, will be responsible for supporting all aspects of tax compliance and reporting related to WBD's LATAM operations. This role will serve as a strong liaison between the Controllership and financial systems team and Tax, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the LATAM Tax reporting function, including assisting in the preparation of quarterly tax packages/deliverables due to the Corporate Tax department (AR/BR/CH/MX).
  • Work with the LATAM Tax Reporting team to improve the quarterly reporting process across the region, standardizing reports and processes where possible.
  • Assist in the tax account reconciliation process and create standardized processes for reconciliations across LATAM.
  • Serve as a strong liaison between transitioning GBS/Controllership teams and financial systems team, ensuring tax needs are met.
  • Support local tax inspections and fiscal benefits, gathering information and preparing relevant data for presentation in local governmental offices (e.g., BCRA, INDEC, SII, and others).
  • Participate in annual statutory audits, primarily in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia.
  • Calculate fixed assets amortization, inflation adjustment, and annual tax deferral for Argentina/Chile entities.
  • Gather data for transfer pricing documentation and calculations for operations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual forecasts (income, cash flow, and other requested by Treasury or AP).
  • Manage system localization updates, new developments, and implementations of systems interfaces.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, generating new management reports to identify potential risks, differences, & anomalies, or explain monthly.
  • Copy accounting and tax books and safeguard them for tax documentation purposes.
  • Prepare national and municipal magnetic media for Colombia entities.
  • Fill VAT Returns of D2C segment for Latam countries.
  • Implement SOX controls for the Tax cycle.
  • Support WHT Certificates collection for foreign entities.
  • Generate POs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Tax or Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of advanced local tax experience managing tax compliance and other local tax matters.
  • Hands-on experience with local income tax and US GAAP.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, Excel, and AFIP interfaces, as well as PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact with other teams clearly and effectively, including accounting & finance teams, legal, and corporate tax partners, as well as outsourced accountants in local countries.

Salary Estimate: The salary range for this position is around $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience.
