We are seeking a skilled Material Planner to join our team at Steelcase. As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the distribution of products to meet customer demand, maintaining inventory levels, and revising shipment plans as needed. You will work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of shipment records and customer satisfaction.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Schedule and coordinate the efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer demand.
  • Analyze and revise shipment plans as required.
  • Work with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and accuracy of shipment records.
  • Determine reorder points and ensure that sufficient levels of inventory are maintained.
  • Analyze actual product demand, trends, and forecasts, and adjust inventory plans accordingly.
  • Apply and implement lean practices to manage material and scheduling customer orders for least total product cost.
  • Analyze material requirements for raw and purchased material to complete production orders, sequence production, and delivery of parts from internal and external suppliers.
  • Drive resolution on external and internal supply chain-related issues.
  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records for tracking production operations.
  • Regular maintenance of materials throughout their life cycle.
  • Process material rejects, root cause, and corrective actions, QMN's.
  • Represent the materials planning team on Product Development projects while working with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate with manufacturing plants in NA and across the globe, Order fulfillment, Logistics, and international suppliers.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Administration, or related field.
  • Advanced English is a must.
  • 3 to 5 years of material planning experience is required.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in material planning within an International Supply Chain is required.
  • Project or Task Management experience is required.
  • Aware and involved in Lean Methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SAP transactions, tables, and queries.

**Preferred Skills and Competencies:**

  • APICS certified (preferred).
  • Strong Oral and Written communication skills.
  • Proactive and able to organize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Advanced Excel ad hoc reporting and use of statistical tools (Tableau).
  • Knowledge of SAP transactions, tables, and queries.
  • Strong attention to detail, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Decision Making.
  • Customer Service Orientation.
