Job Summary: As a Fluid Components Engineer at General Electric, you will play a critical role in the design, testing, and supplier management of fuel and/or oil aircraft engine components. This includes pumps, valves, actuators, heat exchangers, and other fluid systems components for commercial aviation products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute engineering processes for fluid component design and supplier selection.
- Develop documentation, such as Requests for Quotation and Statements Of Work, to ensure supplier delivery in quality and on time.
- Establish and execute analysis, trade-off studies, and investigations to meet program milestones.
- Gather and provide status of current work and track progress via program management tools.
- Collaborate with the Advanced Technologies Organization globally and ensure work progress aligns with target dates.
- Identify technical and program risks that may represent significant roadblocks and execute risk avoidance/mitigation actions.
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams to ensure business continuity.
- Coordinate system-level requirements and transform them into tangible products.
- Support the Engineering organization, meeting KPIs and business targets defined (such as OTD, FTY, Savings, budgets).
- Closely collaborate with engineering organizations (local and global) towards a clear vision and short/long-term priorities alignment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with Control Systems, Electrical or Fuel Systems on New Product Introduction, New Technology Introduction, or similar processes.
- Experience coaching and mentoring others.
- Understanding of aircraft engine operation and the physics behind it.
- Experience with fluids components and sub-components, such as valves, pumps, or actuators.
- Experience working with suppliers and/or RSP.
- Expertise interpreting Fuel Systems schematics and monitoring systems.
- Engine certification process experience, Tollgate Reviews experience.
- Experience documenting Engineering Test plans and results in TPS and DRB Tool.
- Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position.
- Demonstrated outstanding technical skills and experience aligned with the team's scope.
- Demonstrated skills or the ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close, and manage tasks.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt plans due to changes in scope and communicate it to multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Ability to influence others beyond Engineering.
- Able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English.
