**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Accounting Senior Associate to join our team at Carrier. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and validating payments to freight carriers on a weekly basis.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage and validate payments to freight carriers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Address and account for freight damage claims in a timely manner.
- Prepare required journal entries and account reconciliations associated with freight accounting, including the allocation of specific freight expenses.
- Assist with developing and summarizing data used in calculating the inbound and outbound freight reserves.
- Process and account for cash refunds received from freight carriers.
- Assist with the resolution of freight invoice exceptions for processing by the third-party freight payment provider.
**Requirements:**
- Associates degree, 6-10+ years' experience
- Bachelor's degree, 2-5 years' experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Knowledge of SAP and HFM
- Experience with freight companies and processes
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self-driven with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Exceptional customer service skills including follow-up and follow through
