About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our team at KI Industries. As a Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing part design, tooling development, and painting activities for plastic injection molded highly decorative parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Part Design and Development
Manage and control the design and development of plastic parts, ensuring compliance with KIMx guidelines and upholding the standards established at our manufacturing facilities.
Tooling DevelopmentDesign and track tooling modifications, as well as implement improvements to production tools to enhance quality and compliance.
Painting Process ManagementOversee the implementation of new paint processes within our paint lines, ensuring timely repairs and modifications to supplier's external tools in accordance with proposed designs.
Quality AssuranceMonitor paint quality through inspections, data analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
Collaboration and CommunicationSupport simultaneous design of parts, tools, and processes, and maintain up-to-date 3D and 2D drawings of mold and plastic parts in our system.
Problem-Solving and InnovationAnticipate and recommend solutions to capacity, quality, and tool life issues, implementing solutions as necessary.
Process ImprovementPromote the implementation of 5S in our manufacturing plants and participate in RFQ/Team Feasibility Review meetings and DFM meetings for new projects.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a similar position, fluent in Spanish and English, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Advanced skills in CAD, SolidWorks, and PTC Creo are also required. Additionally, a comprehensive understanding of tool design principles, painting processes experience, and thorough theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering resins and injection molding processes are necessary.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is required.
