Job Title: WASH Officer

UNICEF is seeking a highly skilled and experienced WASH Officer to join our team in Mexico. As a WASH Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of our WASH in Schools program, working closely with government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities for children and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Programme development and planning, with a specific focus on WASH in Schools
  • Programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results
  • Technical and operational support for programme implementation
  • Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
  • Networking and partnership building
  • Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building
Requirements:
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, social sciences, or sanitary engineering
  • Work Experience: A minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and proficient level of English
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Additional relevant post-graduate courses
  • Experience working on WASH programmes in migratory contexts
  • Experience working with government counterparts at a federal and/or state level
  • Previous experience with UNICEF or another UN agency
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies
