Senior AI Engineer

At Unosquare, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our AI team, you will collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and data engineers to implement machine learning models in production and manage the lifecycle of AI algorithms across various domains, with a focus on generative AI and chatbots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance a suite of algorithms and systems, particularly for generative AI applications and chatbot functionalities.
  • Automate machine learning pipelines and actively monitor and optimize solutions to ensure efficient performance in production environments.
  • Implement comprehensive solutions for both batch and real-time algorithms, including essential tools for monitoring, logging, automated testing, performance tuning, and A/B testing.
  • Leverage your entrepreneurial mindset to identify new opportunities for enhancing business processes, improving consumer experiences, and prototyping innovative solutions that demonstrate value.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to create and deploy new product features, particularly focusing on generative AI and chatbot capabilities.
  • Establish scalable and efficient automated processes for data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation, ensuring seamless integration of AI technologies.
  • Write clean, efficient software to support continuous delivery in an iterative product development environment, focusing on generative AI applications.
  • Promote and uphold best software engineering practices within the team, particularly in the context of AI and machine learning development.
  • Mentor and educate team members on best practices for writing and maintaining production-quality machine learning code, with a focus on generative AI.
  • Actively contribute to and leverage community best practices related to generative AI and chatbot development.
  • Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues, ensuring the reliability of AI-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely project delivery within budget, focusing on generative AI initiatives.
  • Work with Technical Product Managers to track algorithmic performance KPIs and prioritize enhancements based on effort and potential impact.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, statistics, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years' software development experience with Python and SQL.
  • Working experience with Open AI APIs.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and/or Recommendation Engines.
  • 2-3 years' experience in developing and deploying AI/machine learning systems into production in a cloud environment.
  • Relevant working experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Minimum of two years' experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and minimum of one year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience working with a variety of relational SQL and NoSQL databases, big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka; a Linux environment; and at least one cloud provider solution (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Expertise in standard software engineering methodology, e.g., unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, code reviews, design documentation.
