Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain supply chain metrics for freight transport, logistics, and warehousing business segments.
  2. Prepare and analyze financial dashboards, including KPIs against financial results and forecasts.
  3. Manage the company's Cost Accounting Database, implement physical cost controls, and identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve cost-effectiveness.
  4. Present financial reports and interpret data to inform business decisions.
  5. Regularly review and update standard costs to reflect changes in market conditions and processes.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare and manage cost-related budgets and forecasts.
  7. Present findings to the finance department and operations management team, making recommendations for improvement.
  8. Provide monthly reporting on key performance measures, including cost center spending, capital expenditures, customer volumes, lane mileage, and regional mileage.
  9. Review equipment productivity and conduct monthly reviews.
  10. Create investor packages and interpret management reports.
  11. Conduct monthly reviews with cost centers and complete thorough allocation of revenue and costs.
  12. Review, analyze, and update standards and key figures in the ERP system on a regular basis.
  13. Analyze customer pricing against cost benchmarks for various lanes and regions.
  14. Prepare audit schedules as assigned and answer questions/research as requested by auditors.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  2. At least 5-7 years of related experience in accounting/finance is required.
  3. Previous experience working on Sage300 is an asset.
  4. Tableau/Power BI is an asset but not required; strong Excel skills are essential.
  5. Knowledge of combined financial statement presentation, SOX, financial analysis, excellent communication skills, and time management.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an aptitude to learn new software and systems.
  7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  8. Business acumen: can explain the story behind the numbers.
