Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement energy-saving best practices across the organization.
  • Lead project management and execution of energy-saving investment projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Drive the development and deployment of a resource efficiency culture within the site/region, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and training routines for energy-saving initiatives, ensuring all stakeholders are equipped to contribute to energy efficiency.
  • Conduct regular energy awareness sessions and ensure site/region-level understanding of energy costs and losses, promoting a culture of energy consciousness.
  • Manage energy-related certification work for the site/region, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Identify and pursue local and regional subsidies for energy-saving projects, maximizing the organization's energy efficiency gains.
  • Act as a liaison between the global Sustainability/esave networks and the site/region, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and regional energy-related legislation, ensuring the organization remains compliant and informed.
  • Develop and execute methodical and strategic energy reduction plans, driving ownership and accountability for results.
  • Ensure that Essity corporate standards are considered and executed in alignment with Central functions, promoting a unified approach to energy efficiency.
  • Lead local and regional energy-related networks, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively, ensuring relevant information is shared within the site/region.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as engineering or environmental science.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Cultural savvy and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate staff, managers, and employees.
  • Ability to turn theory into practice, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to lead teams and drive results.
Technical/Specialized Knowledge
  • Functional knowledge: In-depth understanding of technical and business disciplines, specifically in energy efficiency, de-inking, papermaking, and converting; renewable energy, steam, and electrical systems, thermodynamics.
  • Business expertise: In-depth knowledge of the industry, understanding of the total value chain, and practical experience in applying continuous improvement processes and corresponding metrics to organizations.
  • Leadership: Ability to influence and motivate staff, managers, and employees, framed by SCA's leadership capabilities.
  • Problem-solving: Drives world-class continuous improvement principles in developing people.
  • Communication skills: Skilled communicator with excellent influencing skills, able to communicate effectively with site management teams and global functions.
