Job Summary:
Hat Talent Search is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our manufacturing operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing overall engineering areas of operations, defining strategic plans, and executing and tracking internal KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and leadership to engineering staff and serve as a liaison between local engineering, corporate, and functional departments.
- Lead, identify, and direct the execution of improvement efforts to achieve and exceed business performance goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
- Oversee the daily activities of the plant's technical staff, including engineering, product transfers, new product introduction, laboratory technicians, and metrology.
- Manage engineering projects, including forward planning, labor estimates, NA Capex, and Process Excellence.
- Research and establish new technology and equipment requirements, prepare cost justifications, and obtain capital authorization requests.
- Ensure the optimum availability of plant equipment and facilities and services to facilitate the functioning and operation of the company, following applicable safety standards.
- Promote Lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve cycle times and process flows, reducing waste in all manufacturing and business processes.
Requirements:
- Engineer degree, MBA a plus
- Green Belt 6 Sigma, Black Belt a plus
- Bilingual 95%: English - Spanish
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience in a management position in the manufacturing industry
- Experience in medical device manufacturing
- Strong experience in Lean Tools: VSM, 5'S, Std. work, Continuous Flow, Kaizen events
- Experience in CAPEX administration
- Strong analytical problem-solving techniques: (8 steps, 8D's, DMAIC)
- Project Management skills
- Leadership, strong coaching, and organizational skills, ability to organize and lead
