About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our Enterprise Data & Shared Services team at 332 Discovery Networks Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and maintaining our Snowflake and Databricks databases, ensuring the highest level of performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and implement standardized database management procedures for Snowflake and Databricks databases.
  • Design and implement high-performing and highly available data warehouse solutions.
  • Identify, tune, and fix performance issues on priority.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake and Databricks-related errors and work with the team to resolve them.
  • Implement security, roles, users, and privileges using best practices.
  • Provide database/objects recovery as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices in Snowflake/Databricks administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on administration experience with Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of AWS, including S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking, etc.
  • Ability to work on complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to provide 24/7 support.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with various database platforms, such as Oracle, SQL Server, SAP Hana, db2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Git/GitHub, and Kafka.
