This role requires coordinating with consultants to deliver architectural projects. Leverage your industry experience and technical insight to drive client projects from concept through build.
As a Chief Architect at Gensler's Borderless Lab, you must actively participate in all project phases, including documentation and construction administration. You will need to present real-world technical solutions to new design challenges. This role requires personal responsibility and accountability but also open communication and team-oriented success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of projects, from project documentation setup and construction administration
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and setups with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
- Guarantee the delivery of a project's architectural and/or technical aspects
- Provide project team coordination, specification, and material selections required for construction
- Resolve complex technical and design issues during document preparation and construction administration
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of technical documents
- Participate in preconstruction phases, RFIs, and value engineering
- Participate in the construction administration of project assignments, including quality control and submittal reviews
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape civil consultants and/or involved parties
- Support communication between the project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
- Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
- Review technical documents to ensure accuracy
- Oversee the construction administration of project assignments with a focus on managing design intent and quality control
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Architecture, Interior Architecture, or foreign equivalent
- 6+ years of project experience in an architectural practice
- Proficiency in REVIT, Sketch Up, and construction administration software
- 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well-written, with excellent verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of national and international building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
- Mid-scale to large construction experience
- Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
- Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and emotional intelligence
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring multiple project teams
- Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on various project types
- Must be able to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
Compensation:$120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on experience. Benefits include reimbursement for professional licenses and associated renewals and exam fees, as well as tuition reimbursement for eligible programs or classes.
