As an International Logistics Specialist, your role will be essential in directing and supervising the complete shipment lifecycle for your designated accounts. You will ensure that all customer specifications are fulfilled with precision and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will encompass executing and managing tasks for each shipment, maintaining consistent communication, generating reports, and handling correspondence. You will take full responsibility for your accounts, fostering their success through proactive and dedicated service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure Operational Excellence:
- Comprehend the processes, documentation, and terminology associated with international shipping from the issuance of purchase orders to the delivery of goods.
- Understand and input relevant financial aspects of shipments to ensure accurate billing for clients.
- Utilize industry expertise and analytical skills to modify processes/create solutions in response to challenges both internally and externally.
- Execute/Coordinate tasks on shipments to comply with all customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring accurate invoicing, etc.
- Create, maintain, and update shipments in Navisphere, ensuring precise data.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of pricing and provide quotes based on customer and network needs.
- Offer tracking and tracing services to clients and generate shipment documentation.
- Ensure a high level of data integrity within shipments: acknowledgment of shipment details, INCOterms, routing, dates, documents, etc.
Build Relationships:
- Develop strong relationships with clients, responding promptly and following up on issue resolution.
- Communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with Customers/Agents, C.H. Robinson offices, and external vendors.
- Foster a positive working environment for all team members.
- Participate, as necessary, in new customer implementations and business discussions.
Additional Duties:
- Ensure customer SOPs are maintained and followed.
- Operate in accordance with C.H. Robinson, local and global laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned based on team and/or country-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in Global Forwarding.
- Proficient in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
- Strong experience with automotive accounts.
