Key Responsibilities:- Design and Develop: Interpret equipment specifications into detailed designs and BOMs, develop electrical design, schematics and drawings, and create system design software.
- Interpret and Analyze: Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements, define equipment required to achieve requirements of equipment specification, and prepare detailed equipment electrical designs.
- Train and Support: Plan and provide detailed training on equipment design, maintenance and troubleshooting to various customer skill levels, and support existing equipment designs and production issues.
- Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain up to date knowledge of equipment technologies and utilize this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years experience in automation industry or high volume manufacturing environment.
- Programming Skills: Strong experience with PLC programming (Unity, ProWORX, SoMachine).
- HMI Systems: Strong experience with configuring and designing HMI systems.
- Vision Systems: Extensive experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
- Motion Controllers: Familiar with motion controllers and actuators (IAI, Yasakawa).
- System Design Software: Familiar with system design software (LabVIEW, TestStand, C++, etc).
- Communication Protocols: Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, CAN, Profibus).
- Electronic Circuit Knowledge: Electronic circuit knowledge: digital, analog, power and high voltage.
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Standards Knowledge: Basic understanding of UL Standard, NFPA 79, National Electric Code.
