We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at STERIS. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying manufacturing engineering techniques to develop economical and efficient methods to produce piece parts and/or assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Process Optimization: Develop and implement effective and economic standards, procedures, and processes to assure conformance of products to specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Develop clear and concise manufacturing specifications/instructions to maintain quality and to assure smooth work flow through the factory.
- Production Efficiency: Review and process product documentation pertaining to engineering drawings, PFMEA, and initial release and subsequent revisions.
- Cost Reduction: Recommend and implement design changes to improve reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Facilities Management: Recommend rearrangement of plant facilities and assure manufacturing facilities, tooling, and test equipment are available to meet production requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in the implementation of factory test equipment, develop workmanship standards, and assist with review and implementation of factory test equipment.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis for internal and external failures and evaluate and process defective material (IR dispositioning).
- Team Collaboration: Active participation in the SAFETY, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT, and TRAINING initiatives, which include but are not limited to:
- A3 Certification and projects
- STOP Observations
- Monthly Safety Audits
- SQDC board maintenance
- Upgrade and administration of KPI for the area
- Propose and execute CIP (Cost Improvement Projects)
- Maintenance of LSW sheet
- Upgrade and maintenance of initiatives using Dploy system
Three to five years experience in manufacturing engineering. Demonstrated proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices relating to NC or CNC machines, metal forming, metal joining, assembly.
Education DegreeBachelor's Degree in Engineering General
Preferred QualificationsExcellent organizational, analytical, communication, and decision making skills. Effective interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional team members.
