Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Direct Material Buyer to join our team at Electro Componentes De México S.A. De C.V. The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining material cost reductions through VAVE or P2P opportunities, working closely with cross-functional teams to execute sourcing processes, and supporting strategic teams to leverage buying power and optimize the number of suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identification and execution of savings opportunities through historical and projected material consumption
  • Analysis of direct material spend
  • Execution of quotations and negotiations according to category strategy
  • Process on-time requirements from plants
  • Manage day-to-day activities and support cross-functional teams
  • Maintain purchase orders and costs
  • Follow up on invoice discrepancies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fluent English
  • A minimum of 1 year in direct material purchasing
  • Experience in purchasing raw materials from categories such as Electrical & Electronics, Harness Coverings, Resins, Plastics, and/or Metals
  • Solid knowledge in benchmark activities, volume spend, resourcing, payment term improvements with designated suppliers, and localization projects
  • Strong experience in high-level supplier negotiations, competitive quoting, and contract management
  • Successful savings projects implementation
