Tijuana, Baja California, México Sensata Technologies A tiempo completo

As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist at Sensata Technologies, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of our export compliance program. Reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Export Manager, you will be an integral part of our Global Trade Compliance team.

The successful candidate will ensure that our export compliance program successfully addresses all material risk areas related to the ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and other relevant trade compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of the Technology Control Plan at our Sensata Mexico ITAR facility and other export compliance-related procedures and work instructions for the site.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage export compliance processes and procedures; participate in work groups to support the development and deployment of such processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and assist with the implementation of export compliance procedures and work instructions.

You will help ensure the site has adequate export control processes in place and that such controls are functioning properly. Additionally, you will lead or participate in cross-functional projects relating to export controls.

Providing support and guidance to the company on export compliance issues or questions is also a critical aspect of this role. You will review export requests and determine authorization requirements and/or applicability for export exemptions and exceptions.

Supporting the preparation and submission of export authorizations, tracking pending and approved export authorizations, and maintaining export authorization files are essential responsibilities.

You will assist with the management of export authorizations, exemptions, and exceptions, including approval of exports, recordkeeping requirements, providing guidance on scope, any reporting requirements to the USG, and close-out or termination requirements.

Conducting internal reviews to identify risks and implementing corrective actions is another key responsibility. Developing corrective action plans based on findings from root cause analysis and implementing processes to increase compliance, auditability, and efficiency are crucial.

You will identify and report to GTC management any potential compliance violations and any incidents involving significant weaknesses in processes or procedures.

Reporting and escalating any issues or potential violations are also essential aspects of this role.

Supporting internal, external, and government-directed export compliance audits and assessments is critical. Additionally, you will assist with the development of export control training materials and deliver export control trainings to functions based on the training program.

You will provide supplemental training and updates as required. Reviewing and validating export classifications of parts and materials is a key responsibility, requiring complex analyses inherent to military/aerospace export controls.

Identifying products for which Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) determinations or Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCATS) requests would be appropriate and assisting with the submissions are essential tasks.
