Job Summary

Corning is seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties and activities, including experimental procedures, data collection, and analysis. You will work closely with engineers to resolve customer complaints and improve manufacturing yields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and coach new engineering personnel on equipment and processes
  • Understand equipment used in key processes and interpret data to solve problems
  • Work with teams focused on product innovation and cost reduction projects
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues
  • Develop and implement testing and integration of equipment
  • Reduce costs, downtime, and defects, and increase yields
  • Guide front-line production workforce and technical teams to comply with safety and environmental regulations
  • Provide inputs to project plans that identify resources and accurate timelines
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in a technical field or strong Math/Science background and experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and/or drawings
  • Previous technician and/or operator roles that lead to a better understanding of equipment and processes
