Job Summary

As a Housekeeping Manager at Marriott, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of housekeeping, recreation, and laundry. You will direct and work with employees to ensure that guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well-maintained. Your role will involve completing inspections, holding employees accountable for corrective action, and ensuring that guest and employee satisfaction is met while maintaining the operating budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage housekeeping operations and budgets to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Inspect guestrooms daily to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Inventory stock to verify adequate supplies and support an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Communicate areas that need attention to staff and follow up to verify understanding.
  • Supervise daily housekeeping shift operations and verify compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area.
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; no work experience required.
