Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate merchant contracts and identify any unique terms or conditions
  • Collaborate with technical accounting and revenue operations teams to ensure accurate accounting for contracts
  • Review merchant payment requests for appropriate contract support, receipt, and other documentation
  • Track and resolve out-of-policy payment requests and supporting documentation
  • Resolve merchant payment and reimbursement challenges by communicating directly with Merchant Operations and internal personnel
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices and associated training materials for Merchants Payable processes
  • Manage the Merchants store payments request JIRA service desk
  • Assist others with the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis at month-end close for revenue-related accounts in accordance with U.S. accounting principles
  • Account for certain accruals and prepare forecasts related to Merchant payments
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably in the payables function
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with internal payment systems (or similar procurement systems)
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English
  • Ability to navigate the tools and policies needed to resolve payment request issues, including our company policy wiki, NetSuite, Coupa, and the A/P like service desk
  • Capable of building out a seamless operation adhering to controls and practices
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with swift execution
