Job Summary:
Capital Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our vascular laboratory, you will be responsible for directing day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Direct and supervise the vascular laboratory team, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform various vascular diagnostic testing procedures, utilizing the most appropriate techniques and positioning for optimal examinations.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality within the vascular laboratory, ensuring compliance with established hospital and accreditation standards.
- Communication: Communicate significant findings to physicians and nurses during patient interviews, preparation, and testing procedures.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete all ancillary and clerical tasks, ensuring efficient and compliant hospital operations.
- Supply Chain Management: Perform diligent supply-chain-management techniques to prevent overstocking, mis-ordering, or wasteful use of linens and disposable supplies.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Complete staffing schedules and perform time and attendance functions in ADP accurately and timely.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in Universal Protocol patient identification and time-out, and adhere to department policies and protocols.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate's degree in Health Sciences or certification in vascular technology.
- Experience: Three or more years of non-invasive vascular diagnostics experience.
- Skills: Vascular testing, computer skills, and ability to operate safely all patient testing equipment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequent Physical Demands: Sitting, wrist position deviation, pinching/fine motor activities, keyboard use/repetitive motion, talk or hear.
- Occasional Physical Demands: Standing, walking, climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), carry objects, push/pull, twisting, bending, reaching forward, reaching overhead, squat/kneel/crawl.
- Continuous Physical Demands: Lifting floor to waist 15 lbs., lifting waist level and above 10 lbs.
- Sensory Requirements: Accurate near vision, accurate far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, moderate hearing.
