NPI Advisor

Celestica is seeking a highly skilled NPI Advisor to join our Engineering team. As an NPI Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful introduction of new products into our manufacturing process.

• Provide engineering support and coordination of prototype build to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion of new assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineering and support groups to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.
• Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
• Provide engineering expertise for all technical issues related to customer products from conception to obsolescence.
• Work closely with customers to design new products and gather, understand, and convert customer data into usable manufacturing information.
• Verify that specifications conform to customer, industry, and company standards.
• Assist in selecting and programming manufacturing equipment to build product.
• Assist manufacturing with the first run of product and develop specialized tools to automate and ease assembly/test development.
• Develop and execute assembly/test strategy for new products, including DFx analysis and feedback.
• Support the transition of customer products to manufacturing and participate with peers to ensure successful handoffs.

• 6-8 years of relevant experience in engineering or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Excellent customer contact, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills.
• Good presentation, database management, and computer skills.
• Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques.
• Ability to design tests, evaluate results, and recommend solutions to improve processes associated with SMT manufacturing.
• Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems.
• Strong knowledge of IT platforms, database design, and programming languages.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.

Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
