Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist to join our team in Mexico City, Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and financial management. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Finance Officer in maintaining accurate financial records and accounting systems.
  • Preparing and processing invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors and accurate billing to clients, including the U.S. government.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including tracking payments and reconciling accounts.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with Mexican financial regulations and U.S. government contractual requirements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial audits and responding to audit queries.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records of all financial transactions and documentation.
  • Supporting the Finance Officer in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an international or government setting.
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Experience with invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
