We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Benchmark Electronics Tijuana, S. De R.L. De C.V. This role will be responsible for supporting the development of new products and processes, ensuring that they are manufacturable and meet the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in design reviews and provide product evaluations to ensure that the product design is practical and economical to manufacture.
- Assist in reviewing engineering design drawings prior to production release to ensure that they are compatible with state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
- Conduct make/buy evaluations and provide recommendations on in-house vs. outside vendor manufacturing capabilities.
- Evaluate the requirements for assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment needed to support manufacturing operations.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and take an active role in the dispositioning of discrepant material and/or assemblies.
- Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) reviews of engineering change orders to ensure that proposed design changes are producible and within manufacturing capabilities.
- Assist in monitoring daily production activities and provide recommendations on material and/or labor reductions to promote efficiency of operation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by management.
- 0-2 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machine shop environment.
- Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required.
- Basic Lean Sigma concepts, methodologies, and tools.
- Able to travel as required.
