About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled JavaScript Developer to join our team at UST. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems using JavaScript.

Your primary focus will be on coding, debugging, testing, documenting, and communicating product/component/features at the development stages. You will also be responsible for selecting appropriate technical options for development, optimizing efficiency, cost, and quality, and mentoring junior developers.

This is a long-term contract position that requires a strong expertise in JavaScript/Typescript, experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and proficiency in using tools such as DataDog, Splunk, App Insights, and New Relic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coding, debugging, testing, documenting, and communicating product/component/features at the development stages
  • Selecting appropriate technical options for development, such as reusing, improving, or reconfiguring existing components
  • Optimizing efficiency, cost, and quality by identifying opportunities for automation/process improvements and agile delivery models
  • Mentoring junior developers to effectively perform in their roles
  • Proactively identifying issues/defects/flaws in module/requirement implementation and assisting lead engineers on technical design
Requirements
  • Preferred experience with any cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript/Typescript
  • Experience architecting event-based systems or microservices
  • Proficiency in using tools such as DataDog, Splunk, App Insights, and New Relic
  • Proven experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines
  • Working with unit testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Functions or AWS Lambda
  • Essential Node.js and Express experience
  • Experience with Ruby is a plus
  • Angular/Vue/React experience is a plus but not preferred
  • Experience working with fast-paced Agile teams is mandatory
