Manufacturing Process Specialist

Location:
  • Juárez, Nuevo León
PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the guidance of the General Supervisor - Kilns & Spray, Plant III, this role is tasked with delivering engineering support to production sectors, pinpointing and enhancing opportunities within production methodologies or products.

Formulating and sustaining project-engineering initiatives aligned with robust engineering standards, KOS principles, and corporate policies to guarantee the facility operates seamlessly and achieves its production and cost targets.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Offer engineering support for daily production, quality assurance, troubleshooting, cost efficiency, and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Supervise production methodologies and recommend modifications in operational techniques or sequences to ensure optimal performance and enhance productivity.
  • Assist the maintenance team in upholding and diagnosing the manufacturing process, tools, and dies.
  • Establish and maintain oversight of labor standards in intricate operations.
  • Facilitate training for associates as necessary and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Track and monitor various performance metrics of the Plant.
  • Contribute to the execution of the Kohler Operating System (KOS).
  • Encourage ongoing enhancements in safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness in Plant operations.
  • Develop quality initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques to achieve cost savings and improve outcomes in respective areas.
  • Support collaborative efforts to ensure adherence to established methods post-implementation of projects.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities designated for this position.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Supervisory Relationships: Reports to the General Supervisor with a dotted line to the Superintendent-Pottery, Monterrey Plant III.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Regular interaction with Quality and Production departments and Foremen.
  • Moderate engagement with factory personnel.
  • Frequent communication with General Supervisors in conjunction with Wis.

Support areas include: Excellence Team and Vitreous Support teams.

External Business Relationships: Moderate interaction with tooling and machinery suppliers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

EXPERIENCE: Preferred minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean systems.
