About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Accountant to join our team at Epam Systems. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing the month-end close and tax activities, reviewing and preparing journal entries, controlling fixed assets and prepayments, and managing a team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the month-end close and tax activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and Mexican regulation.
- Review and prepare journal entries into the local accounting software (Contpaqi & SAP), ensuring proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
- Work with external or internal consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
- Control of Fixed assets and prepayments, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Review and Associate xml files to all expense's entries in Mexican books, ensuring compliance with electronic accounting requirements.
- Knowledge of NIF and USGAAP compliance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Review and control of tax requirements of Mexican invoice (CFDI 4), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review of Employee reimbursements, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Support to ensure processes comply with SOX controls, ensuring a strong control environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 7 years working experience as an Accountant.
- Knowledge of local taxes and international taxes.
- Accounting/reporting under US GAAP and Mexican regulation.
- Analytical and IT skills.
- Knowledge in Mexican legislation (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax).
